Livingstone - Their music

Monkey (Album)
Livingstone's Album, Monkey, was due to be issued in 1997. A number of tracks were circulated on promo cassette and vinyl but sadly the full album never got physically released :(

The good news - as of 2021 -  there are plans to finally get Monkey out there! The not so good news - there are complicated legal gubbins going on to make it happen - but as soon as we know more we'll add it to the site. And so we don't jeopardise that process, nothing un-released will feature on this site at this time.

However, a member of the band has kindly been in touch and provided the full track-listing for Monkey

1. XYZ or Zero
2. Good Intentions
3. Say It Again
4. Saturday Night
5. John Wayne (different to version on Good Intentions re-release)
6. Heaven Can Wait
7. Call Around
8. Right Time
9. So Tough
10. A Reason
11. Giving Up
12. Bound
13. Restless

Livingstone released three singles, two of which were then reissued. The three lead tracks are superb, and are embedded below - along with links to the b-sides, which are also well worth listening to (especially the majestic Flirt...)

Good Intentions
The first single, later re-released in new packaging and with an extra track. Here's the lead track:

Additional tracks (available on YouTube):

Anaesthesia

Call Around
The second single, released just once:

Additional tracks (available on YouTube):
You Know Too Much
Shake

So Tough
The third single, also re-released later on in new packaging:

  2. I used to know this band when they were pub gigging round London. I have various demo tapes by them which I compiled into an album somewhere. I'll dig it out and post it somewhere if anyone wants it. Rich

    1. Hi Rich,

Thanks for the message and for reading.

Wow! I would love to get hands on the demos if you have them - especially as our brand new 'tape to mp3' converter is on the way!

Let me know an email address so I can get in touch!

  5. There’s this website called Lost Albums Club, they managed to get the Speedy album released in 2012 after it was supposed to be 1997. Hopefully they can help and get in touch with whoever owns Silvertone’s copyrights now?. That Speedy album never even made it to promo as far as I’m aware and it only got out as someone had the MP3 files, maybe the only source they ever existed in. “Monkey” is definitely out there somewhere seeing Select reviewed it.

There’s an Instagram page called Britpopbuzz, I mentioned Livingstone on there and the album. Whoever is in charge of their page asked me for a link to this blog, so the word might be spread even further.

The Speedy album was due to be released on Boilerhouse! originally, who like Silvertone I don’t think are around anymore. Maybe they had the same copyright issues Silvertone are having in trying to get the album out, only for Lost Music Club to help them. You can find them at https://thelostmusicclub.com/
